Germany and the UK call for a meeting in the “Ramstein” format for June 4

Germany and Great Britain have initiated the convening of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) in the Rammstein format, which will take place on Wednesday, June 4, at the NATO headquarters. About this reported on the official website of the Alliance.
“On Wednesday, June 4, 2025, Great Britain and Germany will convene the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine at NATO headquarters”, the message says.
In addition, a meeting of defense ministers of NATO member states is scheduled for Thursday, June 5.
The previous meeting within the Rammstein format took place in April. Then, on April 11, the Minister of Defense of Great Britain, John Geely, announced that the total volume of new commitments for military support to Ukraine, announced by the participants of the format, exceeds 21 billion euros. Great Britain alone plans to spend 4.5 billion pounds to help Ukrainian forces in 2025. Gili emphasized that the current year is decisive for Ukraine.
In the course of the same meeting, the so-called “ERB coalition” was created, in which Germany assumed a leading role. As explained by the Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany Boris Pistorius, it is about helping Ukraine in ensuring the operation of communication channels, collecting intelligence information, suppressing enemy communications, as well as countering enemy drones and means of navigation.
