EU and the world

Orbán said that Ukraine’s accession to the EU could “destroy the economy” of Hungary

The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, believes that at this time Ukraine’s accession to the European Union is “unthinkable” because, in his opinion, it could “destroy the Hungarian economy.” About this informs Radio Kossuth.

Orban noted that at the moment he does not see “any argument” that would justify Ukraine’s accession from the point of view of Hungary’s interests. At the same time, he noted that he cannot claim that his position will remain unchanged forever.

“I dare not say that forever and forever, never, because who knows what history will bring, no one but God knows, but I can say one thing for sure that here and now it is unthinkable”, – emphasized the prime minister of Hungary.

According to him, Ukraine’s accession to the EU can “destroy” the Hungarian agricultural industry and the entire national economy.

We will remind you that last year, in the presence of Zelensky, at the NATO summit, Orban spoke against Ukraine’s membership in the Alliance.
