Germany will additionally provide Ukraine with 4 IRIS-T air defense systems in 2025

Germany will transfer four more IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile systems to Ukraine in 2025 and has already delivered 30 missiles to Patriot systems. About new military aid announced German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius during his stay in Brussels at the meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine.
“I emphasize that we will provide four more IRIS-T systems, including the missiles. So this is the best announcement of the day, which is accompanied by the information that we have also provided 30 more missiles for the Patriot systems.” Boris Pistorius said.
According to the report, the aid package also provides for the supply of 300 guided missiles for the IRIS-T systems, 120 portable anti-aircraft missile systems, 300 reconnaissance drones, 25 Marder infantry fighting vehicles, 15 Leopard tanks, 14 artillery installations, 100 ground surveillance radars and 100,000 artillery shells.
“Our robust support continues. Yesterday I was able to announce that over the last few days we have been able to provide 30 additional Patriot guided missiles from our own inventory for the Patriot systems we have already delivered to Ukraine.” Pistorius emphasized.
He also drew attention to the importance of coalition initiatives, within which partners work together to strengthen Ukrainian defense capabilities — both during the war and in the future after its end.
“Germany has now formed the ninth coalition, joined today by ten partners, which deals with the very important and increasingly important field of electronic warfare. This includes, for example, the protection and strengthening of our own communications, intelligence and disruption of enemy communications and, last but not least, defense against drones.” – said the minister.
