Greenpeace activists stole Macron’s wax figure and called on him to stop trade with Russia

In Paris, Greenpeace activists stole a wax figure of French President Emmanuel Macron from the Grevin museum, calling on him to end trade relations with Russia. About the incident informsFrance24.
“We directly appeal to Emmanuel Macron, because he bears a special responsibility in this situation. He should be the first in European negotiations regarding the termination of commercial contracts between Russia and European countries.” – said representatives of Greenpeace.
According to the police, three people — two women and a man — entered the museum disguised as tourists, changed clothes, covered the statue with a blanket and took it out through the emergency exit. Subsequently, the figure was placed near the Russian embassy in France, where activists criticized Macron’s policy regarding companies that continue to cooperate with the Russian Federation. The local police note that no arrests have been made, and the figure itself, the value of which is estimated at 40,000 euros, has not yet been returned to the museum.
The head of Greenpeace France, Jean-Francois Julliard, commented on the situation, saying that Paris is “playing a double game”, on the one hand, supporting Ukraine, and on the other hand, allowing French companies to import gas and fertilizers from Russia. “This double discourse,” according to him, “is personified by Macron,” and he “must be the first” among European leaders to terminate trade contracts with Russian companies.
It will be recalled that France imports the largest volumes of Russian liquefied natural gas among European countries, although, according to estimates, it could replace this supply with alternative sources, in particular from the USA.
