Harris has no plans to discuss ending the war in Ukraine with Putin

US Vice President Kamala Harris categorically rejected the idea of holding bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on ending the war in Ukraine. She emphasized that any peace processes should take place with the participation of Kyiv and taking into account the position of Ukraine. This is reported by CNN.

During an interview for the “60 Minutes” program, Harris emphasized that “only Ukraine should decide its future.” She also drew attention to the importance of observing the principles of the UN Charter in any peace negotiations aimed at ending Russian aggression against Ukraine.

“There will be no success in ending this war without the participation of Ukraine and the UN charter in what this success looks like”, — said Harris.

When she was asked about the possibility of supporting the expansion of NATO to include Ukraine, Harris avoided a direct answer, noting that “this issue will be resolved in the future, if it comes to it.” She emphasized that the US priority now is to support Ukraine’s defense capability against unprovoked aggression by Russia.

In her speech, Harris also commented on the statements of Donald Trump, who claimed that under his presidency, Putin would not have launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The vice-president noted that if Trump were in the White House, Putin could already capture Kyiv.

“He says he can finish it on the first day. You know what that is? It’s about surrender.”, she emphasized.

We will remind you that in September, Kamala Harris met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi at the White House, where she confirmed the unwavering support of the United States for Ukraine. During this visit, Zelenskyi presented to Harris his plan for winning the war with Russia, as he did to President Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
