Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev made public data on the size of the largest pensions among certain categories of pensioners with a special status. According to him, the maximum pension in Ukraine exceeds the minimum by 165 times.
“I made a corresponding request to the Pension Fund of Ukraine. I can already share with you the information I received in response. The figures are shocking. First of all, because they cannot be compared in any way with the pensions of the parents and relatives of the majority of Ukrainians, the pensions you write to me about. I share your opinion that the pension calculation system should be fair.” – said Danylo Hetmantsev.
Among judges, the largest pension is 390 thousand hryvnias, while the last one in this conditional TOP-20 receives almost 320 thousand. In the category of prosecutors, the maximum pension is 219,000 hryvnias, and the 20th pension is 119,000 hryvnias.
Among the people’s deputies, only one receives a pension in the amount of 245.9 thousand hryvnias, the rest – from 21.8 to 59.8 thousand hryvnias. For comparison, among miners, the maximum pension is 29 thousand hryvnias.
“I don’t think that I need to comment a lot here, the conclusions are obvious,” Hetmantsev noted.
He emphasized that pensions should be decent for all Ukrainians who worked honestly all their lives, and not only for certain categories. Hetmantsev also reminded that consideration of the draft law on the abolition of special pensions for prosecutors is ongoing.
“I am sure that we will be able to overcome the opposition and accept it in the second reading. This will be the first step towards restoring justice in our country. The first, but it definitely cannot be the only one.”, he added.
