How to get free products for refugees in Austria

Refugees and other vulnerable categories of the population living in the Austrian capital have the opportunity to receive a food kit from benefactors. The “Volkshilfe” organization delivers products every Tuesday.
The grocery set includes cereals, oil, vegetables, pasta, canned goods, etc. To get products, you will have to stand in line (1 – 2 hours).
Importantly! You can get a charity kit once a month. You need to take your passport or other identity document with you. You must have a Vienna registration.
Representatives of “Volkshilfe” provide products every Tuesday at the address Scheydgasse/Autokaderstraße, 1, 1210. From eight in the morning, benefactors distribute coupons, and at nine o’clock the distribution of kits begins.
It is worth coming before 8:00, because those who want to get products take up the queue earlier. The biggest rush for kits from “Volkshilfe” is observed at the beginning of the month, so it is better not to go for free products on the first Tuesday of June.
Ukrainians who have already received food packages are advised to take a bag or a bag with them, as the benefactors give out food in paper bags. They are not comfortable to carry and they are not very strong.
As a reminder, Austria is included in the list of countries where Ukrainian refugees do not feel very comfortable. In March, the country took third place in terms of the number of our fellow citizens who left. At the beginning of spring for a month the number of Ukrainians in the Czech Republic decreased by 20.7 thousand (-5.4%).. Our fellow citizens with protection status in Sweden decreased by almost 10,000 people (-21.5%). In Austria, the number of Ukrainian refugees decreased by 9.1 thousand (-11.1%). Some of them moved to other EU countries, the rest returned home.
