Hungary, at the request of the Russian Federation, helps supply gas to Transnistria

Hungary has satisfied Russia’s request to help supply gas to Transnistria. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Hungary, Peter Sijarto, informs 24.hu.
Peter Sijarto confirmed that a few weeks ago, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister responsible for energy approached him about the issue of gas supply.
“Then I held negotiations with several energy companies with Hungarian capital, as well as with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova. As a result of these negotiations, the company with Hungarian capital will indeed transport natural gas to the Transnistrian region.” Sijarto said.
At the same time, he did not specify which company he was talking about.
We will remind that previously Transnistria received gas thanks to the first tranche of European aid. However, after February 10, the authorities of the region refused further support from the EU and declared that they would buy gas with credit funds provided by Russia.
