“I have no doubt that he will strongly support Ukraine”: Johnson made a statement after meeting with Trump

The ex-head of the British government and the candidate for the post of the US president talked for almost 30 minutes.

Former Prime Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson held a meeting with the candidate of the Republican Party for the post of President of the United States, Donald Trump. This is Johnson reported on his Instagram page, confirming the news with a joint photo with Trump.

“It’s nice to meet President Trump, who is in great shape after the shameful attempt on his life. We discussed Ukraine, and I have no doubt that he will be strong and determined in supporting this country and protecting democracy.”, — wrote Johnson.

For information Sky News, Boris Johnson has arrived in the US to attend the Republican National Convention. The meeting lasted about half an hour, during which politicians discussed a number of important international issues, including the situation in Ukraine.

Trump, who appeared in public for the first time with a bandaged ear after the recent assassination attempt, was in excellent spirits. During his speech at the congress, he confirmed his readiness to continue the struggle for the presidential seat.

During the meeting with Johnson, Trump expressed his support for Ukraine and stated the need for decisive action to protect democracy in this country. Johnson, for his part, emphasized the importance of international support for Ukraine in its fight against aggression and protection of sovereignty.

In addition to the situation in Ukraine, the politicians also discussed other global challenges, including issues of security, economic cooperation and strategic partnership between Great Britain and the United States. Johnson expressed hope for further close cooperation between the two countries in combating international threats and strengthening global stability.
