IMF allocates new tranche of $400 million to Ukraine

Ukraine received another tranche of financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the amount of 400 million dollars. About this reported Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

“Approximately $400 million of the IMF’s next tranche came to the state budget of Ukraine. These are the funds we received after the successful seventh revision of the EFF program. Thus, the total support of the IMF within the framework of this initiative reached more than $10 billion. We thank the Fund for its help and close cooperation, which supports the Ukrainian economy during the war.” – says the message.

The new tranche became possible after this decision was approved by the Fund’s Executive Board of Directors.

We will remind that in February, Ukraine reached a preliminary agreement with the IMF at the staff level regarding the seventh revision of the EFF program.

“Ukraine and the IMF reached a staff-level agreement on the seventh review of the Enhanced Financing Facility (EFF) program”, Shmyhal said then.

He specified that the total amount of the program is approximately 15.5 billion dollars. The receipt of each subsequent tranche depends on the approval of the revision by the executive bodies of the fund. The EFF program is divided into two key stages: the first is emergency financial support for the period of martial law, the second is assistance in the post-war reconstruction of the country.
