In 2025, the Ministry of Defense signed contracts for the supply of rear property in the amount of UAH 44.8 billion

In the first quarter of 2025, the procurement agency of the Ministry of Defense “State rear operator” concluded contracts for the supply of rear property in the amount of 44.8 billion hryvnias. About this informs press service of the Ministry of Defense.

“This is almost 66% of the total funding for 2025, which amounts to UAH 67.6 billion. Thanks to the early approval of procurement plans as early as 2024, the DOT was able to quickly start their implementation, ensuring the stability of the supply of the necessary rear property. In particular, food was contracted for UAH 21.4 billion, tangible property – UAH 16.4 billion, PMM – UAH 7 billion.

Conducting tenders in advance allows businesses to better plan production, and the military to receive the necessary supplies on time.” – said the director of the Department of Procurement Policy of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Hleb Kanevskyi.

Among the contracts are sets of summer field uniforms worth UAH 1.8 billion, of which UAH 433 million have already been placed in warehouses, which made it possible to provide military personnel with clothing before the start of the season.

A significant number of agreements on personal protective equipment were also concluded. The total volume of such contracts amounted to UAH 3.8 billion, in particular: bulletproof vests – for UAH 3.1 billion, helmets – for UAH 0.7 billion, tactical glasses – for UAH 0.1 billion. This ensured the timely delivery of protective equipment to units.

The Ministry of Defense continues to implement the policy of localization, which promotes the development of national production. The DOT requires suppliers to localize products for the armed forces, which, in turn, supports Ukrainian industry and contributes to the creation of jobs in strategic sectors.

In addition to advance planning, the IOU also introduces additional measures to improve the efficiency of resource use. In particular, purchases of diesel fuel are now carried out with dye marking. This approach allows for the identification of each party intended exclusively for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and minimizes the risks of abuse.
