In Kyiv, unknown persons beat Metropolitan Klyment, who is a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces

In Kyiv, on September 10, around 11:00 p.m., three unknown persons attacked a representative of the church, who is also a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, near St. Michael’s Cathedral. The police are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident. About this informs National Police of Ukraine.

According to law enforcement officers, the event was discovered during monitoring of social networks, in particular one of the Telegram channels. It stated that three unknown persons attacked a church representative, who serves in the Armed Forces, near St. Michael’s Cathedral.

The police registered this incident and started an investigation. An investigative team went to the scene to talk with the victim and find out all the details. Additional information will be provided after the completion of the investigation.

Who was beaten near St. Michael’s Cathedral

For information Ukrainian journalist Andrii Tsaplienko, the attack took place on Metropolitan Klyment of the Simferopol and Crimean Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

The Metropolitan arrived in Kyiv at the invitation of “Crimean Platform”. Around 11:00 p.m., he was heading in the direction of the St. Michael’s Monastery, where he had his cell. Near the monastery, three unknown men stopped him and began to beat him. According to Kliment, one of the attackers addressed him with the words: “Lord, bless!” before starting the attack, which, according to the Metropolitan, indicates that the attack was planned.

The Metropolitan also noted that the attack took place in an area where there are no video surveillance cameras, which complicates the investigation.
