In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a deputy from the “Batkivshchyna” Oleksandr Plakhotnik was found dead

In the Kamian district of the Dnipropetrovsk region, a driver found the body of a man with a gunshot wound on the side of the road. The deceased was Oleksandr Plahotnik, a deputy from the “Batkivshchyna” party. About this informs press service of the police of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

“Information about the event was received by the police on duty on March 28, around 8:20 a.m. The driver of the car reported that he found a body on the side of the road. The investigative team is working at the scene. The forensic laboratory is also involved. All the circumstances are being established and the question of legal qualification is being resolved.”, says the message.

Oleksandr Plahotnik, deputy of the “Batkivshchyna” party, was killed. During the examination, law enforcement officers found a gunshot wound in the head. The investigative team, together with the forensic laboratory, collects material evidence to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The police are conducting an investigation within the framework of criminal proceedings opened under Clause 11, Part 2 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional murder).

Fellow party members of Plahotnik assume that it is a contract killing.

“There is no official statement from the party on this matter yet. We are shocked and believe that this is a contract killing. Oleksandr was a very important, long-standing and influential party member and activist.” – noted the head of the information and analytical department of the regional organization of the “Batkivshchyna” party, Volodymyr Fedorov.

In accordance with data Oleksandr Plahotnik of the “Chesno” movement was born on April 4, 1975 in Dniprodzerzhynsk (now Kamianske) of Dnipropetrovsk region. He was considered the main sponsor of the Dnipropetrovsk branch of the Batkivshchyna party. His wife, Olena Plahotnik, is a deputy of the regional council and heads the regional party organization.

Plahotnik held the post of general director of the public utility “Miskvodokanal” of the Kamian City Council. He was a member of the All-Ukrainian Union “Batkivshchyna” party, the first deputy mayor of Kamiansky and ran for the Verkhovna Rada, but was not elected. In July 2018, he created the charitable organization “Charitable Fund of O. Plahotnik “Native Motherland”.

For a long time, he was also a business partner of the Dubinsky brothers, who are associated with corruption scandals.
