In the Odesa region, there was an explosion in the police building: there are dead and injured
On March 23, there was an explosion in the premises of the police in Odesa region. As a result of the incident, a woman died, and there are also injured. About this informs press service of the National Police of Ukraine.
“Law enforcement officers of Odesa region are working at the scene of the explosion in the police building. As a result of the incident, a woman died, there are victims. Police officers and SBU employees are working at the scene.” – the message says.
The tragic incident took place in Bilyaivka, Odesa region. Later, the law enforcement officers specified that three police officers were injured and were receiving medical assistance.
Security Service of Ukraine qualified the explosion in the police building in the Odesa region as an attempted terrorist attack and opened criminal proceedings. According to preliminary investigation data, the explosion occurred on March 23 around 6 p.m. after a woman entered the police station with a package that probably contained an explosive device.
SBU investigators are working on the spot, an inspection of the territory is being conducted. Together with the National Police, measures are being taken to find out all the circumstances of the event and identify the persons involved. The pre-trial investigation is carried out under Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist act).
