In the city of Fullerton, Southern California (USA), a private four-seater plane fell on the roof of a manufacturing building where about 200 workers were. About this informs Associated Press.
As a result of the plane crash, two people died, 18 more were injured. The identities of the dead have not yet been established, and it is currently unknown whether they were passengers of the plane or employees of the affected enterprise. Nine victims were hospitalized.
The plane crashed less than two minutes after takeoff from Fullerton Municipal Airport. According to airport employee Chris Villalobos, the pilot informed controllers of his intention to return for an emergency landing, but the reasons for this decision remain unknown.
Surveillance cameras recorded the moment of the disaster: the plane tilted on its side and crashed into the building of the Michael Nicholas Designs company. Firefighters and the police quickly arrived at the scene, extinguished the fire and evacuated neighboring businesses.
The FAA confirmed the plane was a single-engine model of Van’s RV-10. The National Transport Safety Council is investigating the cause of the accident.
