A man who molested two Ukrainian refugee children was convicted in Germany

A man who molested two Ukrainian boys was convicted in Germany. The accused specifically arranged for the family to move to the country where he lives.

“The Land Court of Hamburg, Germany, sentenced 43-year-old official Dennis V. to eight years in prison for sexual violence against two children from a family of Ukrainian refugees and the production of child pornography. Radio Liberty project “How are you?” made a request to the court and found out that it was about two Ukrainian boys aged nine and 11, and also analyzed open sources. In the period from March 2022 to April 2023, as the investigation established, the criminal repeatedly committed sexual violence against refugee children“, the message says.
What is known?
According to the German publication moin.de, a journalist who was present at the court session was horrified when she learned the details. As it turned out, the man communicated with Ukrainians through one of the social networks and offered them shelter in the country where he lives. He is a German citizen. For some time, the man pretended to be “noble”. From March 2022 to April 2023, when the family moved to Germany. In the car, he forced two brothers, 10 and 11 years old, to have sex. I filmed all those horrors on my phone. The man literally blackmailed and threatened the family. At the court session, the prosecutor found several messages in the husband’s phone, one of them with the text: “You are no longer welcome here.” Later, the victim’s family contacted the police.
In the commentary of the Radio Liberty project “How are you?” Liddi Ochtering, a spokeswoman for the Land Court of Hamburg, said that the convict worked in a public position.
“The convict had not been criminally charged before. He had no professional contact with refugees“, Ms. Ochtering noted.
Back in July 2023, the boys’ mother wrote a statement to the police. Later, the man’s guilt was proven.
“Between March 2022 and April 2023, he sexually assaulted two brothers, aged between nine and eleven at the time of the offence, and other children in Thailand“, emphasized the spokeswoman of the Land Court of Hamburg.
According to German public broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk, the 43-year-old German repeatedly molested boys between the ages of six and ten between November 2021 and April 2023 during trips to Thailand and photographed it on camera.
During a search of his house in July 2023, the police found 783 images and six video files containing child pornography on electronic media.
For such crimes, the Criminal Code of Germany provides for punishment in the form of one to 15 years of imprisonment. The court did not reveal the circumstances of the crimes against Ukrainian children.
