In Ukraine, from January 1, the cost of gas transportation will increase by 305%

From January 1, 2025, natural gas transportation tariffs for domestic consumers will increase significantly in Ukraine. About this informs NCREKP.
The National Commission for the Regulation of Energy and Communal Services (NKREKP) decided to increase the cost of the service from UAH 124.16 to 501.97 per 1,000 cubic meters, which means an increase of 305%. The decision was made during the meeting of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission.
The main factor of such an increase was the cessation of the transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine, which previously provided 85% of the revenues of the GTS Operator. As the general director of the company, Dmytro Lippa, noted, due to the loss of transit, the company is forced to cut costs, including closing compressor stations and reducing the number of employees.
This situation has already caused concern among business representatives. The head of the Federation of Metallurgists of Ukraine, Serhii Bilenkyi, said that the increase in tariffs for gas transportation will create significant financial pressure on industrial enterprises, which are already facing difficulties due to rising electricity prices.
The new tariffs, according to estimates, may lead to an increase in the cost of production in various sectors of the economy and cause an additional financial burden on both business and end consumers.
