“The volume of production of dairy products in Ukraine is currently ahead of the volume of its sale. In the domestic market, there is a decrease in demand for dairy products in the conditions of increased rocket and bomb attacks by the Russian occupiers on cities with millions and the outflow of their residents abroad. At the same time, milk processing enterprises strive to promote the restoration of demand for dairy products from the population with the help of discounts and promotional offers in retail chains”, explained the AVM.

The business association also warned that a further increase in cheese imports threatens cheese production in Ukraine: if the current pace is maintained, by the end of 2025 the share of imported cheese may reach 80%, which will force domestic cheese factories to stop working and exacerbate the problem of milk surplus.
