In Ukraine, more than 100 medical institutions have joined the pilot project of dental prosthetics for the military: details

In response to the growing demand for medical services among military personnel, Ukraine has launched a number of new initiatives aimed at supporting those who defend the country’s independence and territorial integrity. One of these projects is the pilot program “Dental prostheses of certain categories of persons who defended the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”, which is implemented by the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSHU) in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
The project covers more than 100 medical facilities across the country that have signed agreements with the NHSHU to provide free dental prosthetics and dental treatment services to military personnel. These facilities can be found using the electronic map available at link, or by calling the hotline at 16-77.
How to get the service?
Participants in hostilities, persons with disabilities as a result of war and military personnel can use this service by contacting a medical facility participating in the pilot project. To do this, you need to get a referral from a dentist, prepare a package of documents (including copies and originals) and write an application. You can find a detailed list of required documents here.
Financial restrictions and conditions
The cost of the provided services is limited to maximum amounts: for dental prosthesis – 14,984 hryvnias, for dental treatment – 24,952 hryvnias per patient. It is important to note that the service can be used once a year, but it can include prosthetics of several teeth, if this is provided for in the treatment plan.
Protection of patients’ rights
Ukrainian servicemen who face violations of their rights while receiving medical services can seek help from the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights. Several channels are available for this purpose: street address Instytutska, 21/8, Kyiv, e-mail hotline@ombudsman.gov.ua, hotline 0800501720 or telephone 044-299-74-08.
