In Ukraine, the rules for checking dairy products in markets have changed

Updated rules for conducting laboratory tests of milk and dairy products in agro-food markets have entered into force in Ukraine. About this reported State Production and Consumer Service.
From now on, it is allowed to sell milk and dairy products in such markets only with the presence of relevant documents. This is a veterinary or identification document that confirms the well-being of the farm with regard to infectious diseases, as well as the health of the animal. It should include the date and results of subclinical mastitis tests, information on anthrax vaccinations, and the results of testing for tuberculosis, leukemia, brucellosis, and other diseases.
An expert opinion with the results of laboratory tests of raw milk or products made from it, issued by an accredited laboratory operating directly on the agro-food market, is also mandatory. The State Production and Consumer Service emphasizes that the new requirements will help strengthen control over the safety of dairy products and protect the health of consumers.
We would like to remind that as of April 23, the average purchase price for raw milk in Ukraine was UAH 16.00/kg without VAT, which is 15 kopecks less than at the beginning of the month.
