In Ukraine, the seasonal adjustment of clocks was canceled: the decision of the Verkhovna Rada
On October 27, the hands of the clock will be moved back one hour, after which the time will not be changed.

On July 16, the Verkhovna Rada adopted Law No. 4201, which cancels the transfer of time from winter to summer time. From now on, on the last Sunday of October, the clocks will be switched to winter time, and they will not change anymore. About this reported People’s Deputy from “Golos” Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
261 people’s deputies voted “for” the adoption of the law.
“This year, on the last Sunday of October (the 27th), we will switch the hands to winter time, and from 2025, there will be no more summer time.”, — explained Zheleznyak.
It is worth noting that on March 3, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada in the first reading adopted draft law No. 4201 “On calculating time in Ukraine”, which provides for the rejection of seasonal clock changes.
For more than 40 years, since the introduction of clocks in 1981 by the Soviet Union, Ukrainians have changed their clocks twice a year. In Ukraine, daylight saving time was unified only in 1996, and the transfer always fell on the weekend to give people the opportunity to adapt.
Scientific studies show that changing the clocks can have a negative effect on health. It can cause lack of sleep, increase the level of depression and cardiovascular diseases. A partial desynchronization between a person’s internal clock and the amount of light that comes in from the outside can cause disorientation in space and time, memory loss, and an increase in heart attacks and strokes. In the USA, the number of traffic accidents increases by 6% during the transition to daylight saving time.
Thanks to the new law, Ukrainians will be able to avoid these negative consequences, which will help improve their health and safety.
