Rustem Umyerov discussed with the US Congress the key needs of the Armed Forces before the meeting in the Rammstein format
During the visit of the delegation of the House of Representatives of the US Congress to Ukraine, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov held important negotiations aimed at strengthening military cooperation between the two countries. Umerov expressed his sincere thanks to Congressmen Robert Whitman (Republican) and David Troun (Democrat) for the bipartisan support that the United States is providing to Ukraine at this critical time. The minister emphasized that such support is vital for the Ukrainian military, which continues to fight for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
During the meeting, Umerov and his team informed the American partners about the current situation at the front, in particular in the territories near Sumy Oblast. The minister emphasized that the priority task remains the clearing of border regions from Russian threats in order to ensure the safety of Ukrainian cities and villages.
“We also discussed the urgent needs of our army, in particular, the need to obtain permission from the allies as soon as possible for the full use of long-range weapons to strike targets on the territory of Russia. This is a matter of protecting our peaceful citizens.”, – noted Umyerov.
In addition, during the negotiations, considerable attention was paid to preparation for the nearest meeting in the Rammstein format. The Minister of Defense emphasized the importance of this meeting being as productive and effective as possible for further support to Ukraine.
