International aid for Ukraine has reached $24.6 billion since the beginning of the year: Pyshnyi

Since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine has received $24.6 billion in international aid, and this amount is expected to increase to $38 billion by the end of the year. About this reported Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pishnyi in an interview for “Business Breakfast with Volodymyr Fedorin”.
He emphasized that Ukraine is significantly dependent on international financial support to cover the budget deficit, which has significantly increased due to the war. The program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) includes not only the obligations of Ukraine, but also the financial promises of international partners.
“Political will is also important, but in order for this will to be, Ukraine must have a voice. It is formed in us only when we fulfill our part of the obligations. And we are effective in this. If it were not there, we would have not passed the fifth review of the program with the IMF at the staff level”, — said Andriy Pishnyi.
According to the basic scenario of the NBU macro forecast, international partners will provide Ukraine with $38 billion in 2024 in the form of soft loans and grants, and in 2025 this amount will amount to $31 billion. Military aid from the European Union already exceeds 43.5 billion euros, and the total military and civilian aid for Ukraine is more than 100 billion.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has confirmed the Allies’ intention to continue providing Ukraine with permanent military support in the amount of 40 billion euros for the next year, underscoring the long-term readiness to help the country resist aggression and rebuild.
