Israel deports Greta Thunberg and activists from Gaza-bound ship Madleen

Swedish eco-activist Greta Thunberg, along with a group of participants who tried to break through the Israeli naval blockade of Gaza on the Madleen, were taken to Ben Gurion Airport for deportation. About this reported Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel.
Activists were taken to the airport, from where they should be returned to their countries of origin within a few hours. In case of refusal to sign the documents on voluntary departure, the cases of the participants will be transferred to the court, which will decide on their forced deportation in accordance with the current Israeli legislation. The detainees met with representatives of their countries’ diplomatic institutions at the airport.
It will be recalled that on the night of June 9, the Israeli military intercepted the humanitarian ship Madleen, which was trying to break through the blockade of the Gaza Strip. There were 12 people on board, including the famous Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg and the member of the European Parliament from France Rima Hassan. The vessel was diverted to one of the Israeli ports.
A British-flagged vessel belonging to the pro-Palestinian Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) set out to deliver symbolic humanitarian aid to Gaza and draw the world’s attention to the humanitarian crisis in the region.
