It will think like a human: Google is developing the latest artificial intelligence technology
The American corporation Google is actively developing artificial intelligence technology capable of thinking like a person. About this informs Bloomberg edition.
According to sources, Google specialists have made significant progress in this area in recent months. Their developments are aimed at solving complex multi-stage tasks, in particular in the fields of mathematics and computer programming.
The article notes that Google uses an approach known as “chain of thought” to bring its models’ reasoning process closer to that of a human, similar to OpenAI’s methods.
Inside the company, however, some employees are expressing concern that Google is lagging behind OpenAI. In September 2023, OpenAI unveiled a new o1 model that works on a similar principle, signaling increased competition between the tech giant and the fast-growing startup.
It is worth noting that back in 2023, Google introduced the Gemini chatbot, which is capable of working with different types of data, such as text, code, audio, images and videos, and perform tasks of processing and summarizing them.
At the same time, the company OpenAI, which is the developer of ChatGPT, continues to strengthen its position in the market. Thanks to the attraction of investments in the amount of $6.6 billion, the value of the company reached $157 billion. OpenAI’s key investors include Microsoft, Nvidia, as well as venture capital companies Thrive Capital and Khosla Ventures, making it one of the world’s most promising AI technologies.
