Italy is ready to send peacekeepers to Ukraine

Italy has expressed readiness to consider participating in a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Italy, Guido Crozetto, informs Handle.
The statement was made during a meeting of defense ministers of European and North African states in Madrid.
“I hope for the earliest possible conversation about peace, about the peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, as well as in Gaza and Lebanon,” – said Guido Crosetto.
However, the country’s government does not have a unified position on the issue of sending Italian peacekeepers to Ukraine. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Antonio Tajani named discussion of this issue “premature”.
“Let’s see what happens when and if the war ends.” – he emphasized.
Earlier it became known that Germany is considering the possibility of sending its troops to maintain peace if a ceasefire is reached between Ukraine and Russia.
