Joe Biden has announced that he is withdrawing from the presidential race

The 46th President of the United States, Joe Biden, decided to stop his election campaign for re-election as the head of state. That’s what he’s about reported on his page in the X social network in the evening of July 21.

At the same time, according to Biden, he will work until the end of his term. He made the decision due to pressure from Democratic Party leaders after his poor performance in the debates, as well as growing concerns about his physical and mental health.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your president. And while I intend to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and country that I should step down and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term.

Later this week I will tell people more about my decision.

Now let me express my deepest gratitude to all those who worked so hard to secure my re-election. I want to thank Vice President Kamala Harris for being an outstanding partner in this effort. And let me express my sincere thanks to the American people for the faith and trust you have placed in me.

I believe the same today as I always have: that there is nothing America can’t accomplish when we work together. We just need to remember that we are the USA“, the head of the White House wrote.

It is noteworthy that just 18 hours ago, Biden announced that he would win the election. Additionally, it should be noted that no US presidential candidate has ever left the campaign trail during a general election campaign.

Kamala Harris is considered the most likely candidate to replace Biden in the United States – according to some polls, even before the president withdrew from the race, she had a better chance of defeating Trump. The names of other possible contenders are also mentioned: Senator Mark Kelly, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, as well as governors Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, Joshua Shapiro, Wes Moore and others.
