Krupa scandal: head of MSEC issued disability certificates for more than 50 prosecutors

Almost all prosecutors in the Khmelnytsky region received a second-grade disability, which was ‘issued’ to them by the head of the regional MSEC, Tetiana Krupa, who is known for her scandalous actions.
Prosecutors with such disabilities continue to receive generous pensions from the state, sometimes reaching hundreds of thousands of hryvnias a year.
According to information obtained by Censor.Net journalists, law enforcement agencies in the region were aware of this large-scale corruption scheme.According to the investigation, Krupa’s connections with prosecutors became apparent after examining their declarations. Almost all prosecutors in Khmelnytskyi region, according to Tetiana Krupa’s decision, were recognised as second-group disabled. They received disability pensions, which were officially issued by the head of the regional Pension Fund, Oleksandr Krupa, Tetiana Krupa’s son.
The journalists cited examples of prosecutors involved in the case, including Khmelnytsky Regional Prosecutor Oleksiy Oliynyk and his wife Iryna. Both received more than UAH 2.5 million in disability pensions over several years. This is just one example – the total amount of payments is estimated to be over UAH 54 million.
Journalists suggest that money is not the only goal of this scheme.Disability gives prosecutors significant advantages in employment and makes it difficult to fire them. In addition, a wife’s disability can be a pretext for avoiding a prosecutor’s transfer from a region where he or she already has established connections.
The corruption scheme was active even during the mobilisation. During a search of Krupa’s workplace, $104,000 received from citizens for disability registration was found. Women who received disability certificates could thus exempt their husbands from mobilisation by registering them as carers for the disabled.
