The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, emphasized the importance of finding the right tools and effective cooperation to encourage Ukrainians to return from abroad.
This position he expressed during the press conference dedicated to the upcoming 4th Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen.
“In the issue of the return of Ukrainians to the Motherland, we must find the right words, tools, as well as interaction, without putting pressure on other countries where our compatriots live and work“, Kuleba noted.
The minister also noted that the governments of other states, where a significant number of Ukrainians currently live, express satisfaction with the fact that our compatriots are actively adapting and integrating into local society. However, they also show a desire to help the Ukrainian government in organizing the return of their citizens.
“They themselves are in a very narrow space for maneuver, since they cannot apply coercive measures. Just like us“, he emphasized.
Kuleba also noted that among Ukrainians abroad there are those who need special attention and support, such as people who cannot return due to medical reasons or obligations to their relatives.
“I am sure that for another part of Ukrainian citizens who are abroad today, our sessions at universities, work in the fields, in factories and in business are living proof that Ukraine can offer a stable life, development and a safe place to raise children“, said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
