In Odesa, a man with oligophrenia and heart defects was mobilized to the Armed Forces (video)
The Odesa Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support found itself at the center of a high-profile scandal after a man with a confirmed diagnosis of oligophrenia and heart defects was deemed fit for military service and mobilized.
Comment of the mother of the mobilized:
“My son has mental retardation and serious heart problems. He can’t serve in the army. It’s just inhumane!– said the mother of the mobilized man.
The video also claims that the medical board lasted only 30 minutes and the man’s diagnoses were completely ignored.
Odesa Territorial Center of Recruitment and Social Support made public official statement in response to accusations of illegal mobilization of a man with oligophrenia and heart defects.
TCC position:
- TCC claims that it acted within the framework of the law. According to current regulations, persons diagnosed with “mild oligophrenia” may be deemed fit for service in the rear.
- During the military medical examination, the man did not provide any documents confirming his diagnoses.
- The VLC procedure was performed according to the established procedure, and the eligibility decision was made based on the available data.
