Lavrov voiced a condition for the cessation of hostilities in Ukraine

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, said that Russia will stop hostilities in Ukraine only if the negotiations on the end of the war give a “firm, sustainable result” that will satisfy the Russian side. This is reported by rosZMI.
“President Volodymyr Putin has clearly said that we are ready to negotiate with Ukraine and Europe, with any representatives who, in the spirit of goodwill, would like to help achieve peace. But we will stop hostilities only when these negotiations produce a solid, sustainable result that suits the Russian Federation. Of course, the realities on the ground must be taken into account.”Lavrov emphasized.
He also noted the “position of the United States”, which he called “consistent”, as it does not call for an immediate “calm down”, leaving the current front line and only then deciding on further actions.
“We have always emphasized that this option will not suit us”, – emphasized the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
We will remind that on February 23, the special envoy of US President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff, announced that the American side came close to reaching a peace agreement on ending the war waged by Russia against Ukraine.
