Lviv deputies use business trips for family trips abroad

Despite the current ban on the departure of Ukrainian deputies abroad, with the exception of business trips, treatment or funerals of loved ones, some deputies of the Lviv Regional Council still find ways to travel to other countries. Special resonance cause cases when such trips are accompanied by family trips.

For example, MP Zakhar Mylyanyk traveled abroad twice with his family. In July, he visited Slovakia at the invitation of the Plast organization together with his wife and son, and in August he was in Germany. However, reports of these trips have been minimal, and the inviting organizations have not confirmed the holding of official meetings.

Another deputy, Vsevolod Bilas from “European Solidarity”, traveled to Estonia in June and September allegedly for negotiations with a humanitarian organization. Both times he was accompanied by his wife, and during the second trip, also by his daughter. At this time, his wife’s social networks showed photos from a vacation in Greece.

Deputy Roksolyana Voronovska (“The Voice”) was with her husband and three children during a two-week business trip to Poland. In total, she went abroad five times since the beginning of the war.

Most of the deputies, who are suspected of abuses, could not provide detailed reports on the work done abroad. The Security Service of Ukraine has already addressed them with relevant requests. However, despite public indignation and publicity, punishment has not been applied so far.
