Made money on yachts: the girlfriend of the deputy prosecutor general denies Verbytskyi’s involvement in her fortune

Khrystyna Ilnytska, the girlfriend of Deputy Prosecutor General Dmytro Verbytskyi, denied the involvement of her partner in her wealth and real estate. She sent an official letter to the journalists who conducted the investigation, in which there is suspicion of illegal enrichment of Verbytskyi. Ilnytska assures that she earned money herself from the sale of movable and immovable property. However, the girl did not provide evidence regarding most of the transactions. In the meantime, the General Prosecutor’s Office announced the official investigation of Dmytro Verbytskyi.
We will remind you that the huge fortune of Verbytskyi’s girlfriend became known this month thanks to journalistic investigation programs “Schemes”. The girlfriend of Deputy Prosecutor General Dmytro Verbytskyi, who has officially earned 0 hryvnias over the past three years, bought herself a three-story cottage and a luxury car with a total cost of almost 52 million hryvnias.
U letters to journalists Khrystyna Ilnytska called the information presented in the investigation “false”. She also stated that Verbytsky “has nothing to do with her personal finances”, and she “purchased all movable and immovable property with her own money”.
Ilnytska claims that she had the financial means to purchase real estate because she “helped her partner with whom she was in a relationship – Yuriy Vasyliovych Pryimak, run a yacht business.”
Previously, “Schemy” talked about Pryimak in its investigation. Ilnytska used to receive a salary in his company. He died in 2020. In her letter to the editors, Ilnytska stated that thanks to the will drawn up in her name, she had enough funds. She also confirmed that this will was eventually revoked. In an address to the editors, Ilnytska provided a list of property she owned and sold. For example, in 2023 she sold a land plot with an area of 0.18 hectares and a residential building with an area of 41.7 square meters in the Kyiv region, and in 2020 – a residential property in the city of Boyarka with an area of almost 600 square meters and a plot.
However, the woman did not attach supporting documents regarding the purchase and sale of this property, which makes it difficult to determine the amount of money she could have received from these transactions. According to official data on declared income, in 2020 Ilnytsia received 268 thousand hryvnias from the sale of residential real estate. In subsequent years, Ilnytsia did not officially declare income.
After publicity in the media, an official investigation was launched against Verbytskyi. Deputies summoned the Prosecutor General to the Parliament for clarification, but he did not appear before the Verkhovna Rada.
“I signed an order to conduct an official investigation into these facts, which is currently underway. The National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption is conducting an investigation into his lifestyle. In addition, I know that NABU has initiated its own investigation. In my letter to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, I drew attention to these circumstances, offering to postpone the discussion of this situation until the results of the official investigation. Only then will it be possible to make any decisions. The Law of Ukraine “On the Prosecutor’s Office” does not provide for the possibility of removing the deputy from the performance of duties at the stage of the official investigation Mr. Verbytskyi gave me his arguments and explanations about the situation. He is conducting a series of high-profile proceedings, the participants of which are very interested in his removal or dismissal. In this difficult situation, it is important that all decisions are well-founded and objective. – stated Prosecutor General of Ukraine Andriy Kostin.
