According to the survey, one in three respondents avoids Jewish events or places because they do not feel safe there. In general, 80% of respondents believe that anti-Semitism has increased in their countries of residence. 37% of respondents reported incidents of pressure because of their Jewish origin, which most often occurred on the streets, in parks and in stores.

About eight thousand Jews from 13 EU countries took part in the survey. The study began in the first half of 2023, that is, before the mass massacre that Hamas militants carried out on the territory of Israel and the subsequent war in the Gaza Strip.

Compared to two previous surveys on the same topic in 2013 and 2018, the results of the study showed that Jews in the EU are more likely to encounter anti-Semitism both online and in real life.
