Macron reaffirms recognition of Palestinian state

French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed his country’s unchanged position regarding the settlement of the situation in the Middle East, emphasizing the need to recognize the Palestinian state.
He emphasized that the position of Paris remains consistent:
“Yes to peace. Yes to Israel’s security. Yes to a Palestinian state without Hamas.”
According to Macron, to achieve this, it is necessary to achieve the release of all hostages, ensure a lasting cease-fire, resume the delivery of humanitarian aid as soon as possible and start a political process based on the principle of coexistence of two states.
“The only possible solution to the conflict is political. I support the legitimate right of the Palestinians to a state and peace, as well as the right of Israelis to live in peace and security, recognized by their neighbors.”, – added Macron.
The French president also drew attention to the upcoming peace conference dedicated to the implementation of the two-state concept, which should take place in June 2025. According to him, it should become a key stage in achieving a lasting settlement.
“In order to succeed, we must not relax our efforts. Let us not give in to easy ways and provocations. Let us not allow the spread of misinformation and manipulation.” Macron concluded.
