Marco Rubio appointed as USAID Acting Administrator

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has officially become acting administrator of the US Agency for International Development (USAID). About this informs NBC News.
“The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has long deviated from its original mission of responsibly advancing American interests abroad, and it is now clear that much of USAID’s funding does not serve the core national interests of the United States.”, the State Department noted.
Rubio, in turn, informed Congress about a review of USAID’s foreign aid activities with a view to possible reorganization:
“By evaluating USAID and ensuring it is aligned with the America First agenda and the efforts of the State Department, we will continue to protect the interests of the American people and ensure that their tax dollars are not wasted.”
It will be recalled that the US Agency for International Development (USAID) security director and his deputy have been placed on administrative leave after attempting to prevent DOGE employees from accessing the agency’s secure systems.
