In the first half of 2024, the turnover of the McDonald’s restaurant chain in Ukraine increased by 44% and reached 7.8 billion hryvnias, according to data YouControl. The company’s profit also increased significantly, showing an increase of 82% compared to the same period in 2023, and amounted to 874.8 million hryvnias.
In the period from January to June 2024, the foreign-invested enterprise “McDonald’s Ukraine LTD” registered turnover in the amount of 7.8 billion hryvnias, which is 44% more than in the first half of 2023, when this figure was 5.4 billion hryvnias.
The profit of McDonald’s in Ukraine for the first half of 2024 reached 874.8 million hryvnias, which is 82% more compared to January-June 2023, when the company earned 479.8 million hryvnias.
In 2024, McDonaldʼs temporarily closed the restaurant near the Central Railway Station of Kyiv for reconstruction and opened a new establishment in Chernivtsi. In total, the McDonald’s chain in Ukraine has about 100 restaurants.
We will remind you that McDonald’s closed all its restaurants in Ukraine on February 24, 2022 after the start of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, citing security reasons. From September 2022, the company gradually began to open its restaurants in Ukraine.
According to the results of 2022, the network received a profit in the amount of 3.2 billion hryvnias, while losses amounted to 2 billion hryvnias. In the same year, McDonald’s completed construction and opened three new restaurants, investing about 170 million hryvnias.
In 2023, McDonald’s in Ukraine earned 12.9 billion hryvnias in sales and 1 billion hryvnias in profit. During the year, the company opened 10 new establishments, the total investment amounted to 1 billion hryvnias. Also, in 2023, McDonald’s began opening restaurants near major Ukrainian highways.
According to Yulia Badritdinova, the general director of the company in the markets of Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, in 2024 McDonald’s plans to open about six new restaurants in Ukraine. Investments in the country can reach 1 billion hryvnias.
