The adviser to the head of the National Academy of Sciences died: the case of embezzlement of millions was closed

The Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (ACC) closed the criminal case against Mykhailo Grinshpon, a former freelance adviser to the head of the National Space Agency of Ukraine (NSA).
He writes about it Transparency International Ukraine.
The reason for closing the case was the death of the accused.
Grinshpon, together with the ex-director of SE “Ukrkosmos” Serhii Kapshtik, were suspected of causing losses to the state enterprise in the amount of 8.2 million US dollars.
According to the investigation, during the years 2011-2014, Kapshtyk and Grinshpon illegally exported and laundered 8.245 million dollars. These funds were part of a $292.4 million loan granted to Ukraine by the Canadian Export Agency for the creation and launch of the first Ukrainian telecommunications satellite, Libid.
Although the case against Grinspon is closed, Kapstyk’s trial continues. The next meeting in this case will be held on April 24, where the accused will be questioned.
