Microsoft enters the “$4 trillion club,” becoming second after NVIDIA

On July 31, after the end of trading, Microsoft surpassed the mark of $4 trillion in market capitalization, becoming the second in the world after NVIDIA to enter the so-called “$4 trillion club.” About this informs CNBC.
The increase in capitalization occurred against the background of the publication of a quarterly report that exceeded the expectations of analysts: the company’s shares jumped by 8%, and the total market value reached approximately $4.1 trillion. If this momentum continues, Microsoft will officially join NVIDIA, which first crossed this line in early July.
In its financial report, Microsoft recorded an 18% increase in revenues, the highest rate in more than three years, which was made possible by the successful development of the Azure cloud business. For the first time, the company disclosed the dollar revenue from Azure: together with other cloud services, the revenue exceeded $75 billion in the fiscal year 2025, which is 34% more than last year. Since the beginning of the year, Microsoft shares have increased by 22%, exceeding the dynamics of the S\&P 500 index.
NVIDIA and Microsoft have emerged as the biggest beneficiaries of the AI industry’s growth, surpassing Apple in terms of market value. Apple is currently in third place with a market capitalization of $3.2 trillion, while its shares have lost 17% since the start of the year amid investor concerns about slow progress in AI.
At the same time, NVIDIA graphics cards provide computation for leading language models developed by Microsoft, OpenAI, Google, and Meta. Shares of NVIDIA have increased by 33% in 2025, and the company will publish a new financial report at the end of August.
