The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine has decided to set up a special commission to review the activities of the state unitary enterprise Directorate for the Construction of the Second Phase of the National Museum ‘Holodomor Victims Memorial’. This initiative was part of a broader oversight of the implementation of important national projects, including those related to the country’s historical memory and cultural heritage.

According to the Ministry’s order No. 785, signed on 6 November, the Commission is tasked with conducting a detailed review of the Directorate’s work and completing it by 22 November 2024. The main purpose of the inspection is to identify and assess possible violations or shortcomings in the activities of the company involved in the construction of the second phase of the Holodomor Victims Memorial.

Upon completion of the inspection, the Commission will prepare a detailed report with conclusions on the effectiveness and compliance of the Directorate’s actions with the established requirements. In addition, specific proposals will be formulated to address the identified shortcomings and improve the work. This approach will ensure proper oversight of the construction process and help maintain high standards in the preservation of historical memory and cultural heritage.
