Moldova is ready to provide assistance to Transnistria subject to the withdrawal of Russian troops: Sandu

The President of Moldova, Maya Sandu, said that the country is ready to provide Transnistria with urgent help to overcome the energy crisis, and may later consider the possibility of financial support, but only on the condition of the withdrawal of Russian troops. About this informs Newsmaker.
“We reiterate our offer, including the help we can provide – generators, medical aid, medicine – everything that people need during this time,” – said the president.
She clarified that the financial assistance will become real only after the fulfillment of key conditions: the withdrawal of the Russian army and the replacement of the “peacekeeping” mission with a civilian one under the auspices of the UN or the EU.
“But it will be possible after the withdrawal of the Russian army and the replacement of the “peacekeeping” mission with a civilian mission under the auspices of the UN or the EU. These are the main conditions under which we can come and provide significant assistance… This assistance must come from our development partners, because we we are still in a difficult financial situation,” Sandu explained.
