NABU and SAPO appealed to the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals with a request to remove Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshov from his post

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau, together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, appealed to the High Anti-Corruption Court with a petition to remove Oleksiy Chernyshov, the Minister of National Unity, from the position of Deputy Prime Minister and to impose a preventive measure in the form of a bail of 120 million hryvnias. About this reported SAP press office.

The prosecutor’s office noted that the amount of bail was determined by NABU detectives and prosecutors taking into account the risks established during the investigation, as well as in accordance with the judicial practice of the VAKS in similar cases. An important factor was the fact that Chernyshov returned to Ukraine and arrived for questioning at NABU after being summoned.

If the court grants the request, the suspect will have five days to post bail. In the event of non-fulfillment of this obligation or violation of the conditions of a preventive measure, the prosecutor can apply to the court with a demand to replace the preventive measure with a stricter one.

The SAP also insists on imposing a number of obligations on Chernyshov: to appear at the summons of a detective, prosecutor or court, to report a change of place of residence or work, not to leave the settlement without permission, to hand in a passport for traveling abroad, not to contact other persons involved in the case or witnesses, and to wear an electronic bracelet.

It will be recalled that on June 23, Chernyshov appeared at NABU, where he was officially charged with bribery. He is accused of being involved in a land corruption scheme that operated during his tenure as the Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
