NABU announced a search for a suspect in a large-scale scheme in Kharkovoblenergo

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has announced a wanted list for Dmytro Myrnyi, who is suspected of being involved in a large-scale corruption scheme at “Kharkivoblenergo”. He is accused of complicity with the former acting general director of the enterprise, Kostyantyn Logvinenko, and other persons in the embezzlement of 12.5 million hryvnias and an attempt to embezzle another 120 million hryvnias. About this reported on the official website of NABU and in the search records of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to NABU information, Dmytro Myrnyi is wanted on suspicion of committing a crime provided for by Article 191, Part 5, Article 15, Part 3, and Article 191, Part 5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Earlier, NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) detained the ex-director of “Kharkivoblenergo” Kostyantyn Logvynenko and another organizer of the corruption scheme.

It will be recalled that in 2021, according to the investigation, Logvynenko, acting as the general director of “Kharkivoblenergo”, colluded with representatives of commercial companies supplying energy equipment. Together they created an organized group, which also included other employees of the enterprise.

In the period from April to September 2021, Logvynenko secured the victory of two selected companies in tenders for the supply of transformer equipment and electrical measuring devices (meters and additional equipment) at a cost inflated by 132.5 million hryvnias. At the same time, the price of individual components was raised five times.

As a result of the partial fulfillment of the contract for the supply of equipment, “Kharkivoblenergo” suffered losses in the amount of 12.5 million hryvnias. Further embezzlement of 120 million hryvnias was prevented thanks to the introduction of martial law and active investigative actions of NABU detectives in 2022.
