Naftogaz has increased the volume of purchases of American gas by 100 million cubic meters

JSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” concluded a contract for the supply of an additional 100 million cubic meters of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) with the Polish company ORLEN. About this informs Naftogaz press service.
This is already the second agreement between the companies within the framework of the signed memorandum of understanding. The first contract also provided for the supply of 100 million cubic meters of LNG. After regasification, the fuel will be transported to the Polish-Ukrainian border. The gas will arrive in Ukraine already in April and will be used to form a strategic reserve for the next heating season.
“Ensuring a stable gas supply remains our top priority. Cooperation with ORLEN allows Ukraine to expand LNG import opportunities and increase energy security. We continue to work on diversifying supply sources to ensure the reliability and availability of gas for the country. This is especially important in the context of constant Russian attacks on our gas infrastructure.” – said Roman Chumak, head of Naftogaz JSC.
We will remind that on March 7, “Naftogaz of Ukraine” and the Polish state company ORLEN signed a memorandum on cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas. As part of this agreement, the parties agreed on the supply of the first batch of 100 million cubic meters of gas, which will be delivered to the terminal in Klaipėda (Lithuania).
