Zelenskyy signed a law on the payment of 15 million hryvnias to the families of deceased volunteers

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a draft law that provides for the payment of 15 million hryvnias in compensation to the families of volunteers who died while defending Ukraine. About this it is said in the draft law card No. 12234.
Prior to that, the legislation provided for a one-time payment of 1,860,750 hryvnias for civilians who died participating in the defense of the country. At the same time, it amounted to at least 15 million hryvnias for military personnel. The Ministry of Veterans Affairs has initiated a change in approach so that everyone who joined the fight against Russian aggression would receive equal support from the state.
For families who were previously paid smaller amounts, the law provides for additional payment up to the full amount. The document also defines the official basis for granting the status of a family member of the Defender of Ukraine — a special certificate from the commander of the security or defense forces unit about the participation of the deceased in defense measures.
We will remind that on January 21, changes to the law “On social and legal protection of servicemen and their family members” entered into force in Ukraine, which provide for the preservation of financial security in the event that a serviceman goes missing or is captured. Payments, including cash support, will go to his family.
