NATO countries are ready to allocate 40 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine for 2025

A document on such a commitment is expected to be signed next week during the Alliance summit in Washington.

NATO reached an agreement on financing military aid to Ukraine for 2025. This was announced by Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of the Alliance. informs Reuters.

He noted that NATO member states agreed to allocate a financial package worth 40 billion euros to provide military aid, which the organization will use to support Ukraine’s defense capabilities.

It is assumed that this commitment will be signed next week at the NATO summit to be held in Washington.

During the discussions on providing military aid to Ukraine, some of the heads of the defense ministries of the alliance countries opposed the support of the financial package worth 40 billion euros. In this regard, Stoltenberg called on all countries of the organization to ensure a high level of financial support for the Armed Forces.

At the NATO summit, which will be held in Washington from July 9 to 11, 2024, representatives of the alliance intend to assure Ukraine of their readiness to continue their military, political and financial support. In addition, NATO will assume responsibility for the coordination of security assistance to Ukraine, which is currently being provided under the leadership of the United States in the Rammstein format.

Thanks to such a steadfast position, Ukraine will be provided with all necessary types of military equipment, weapons, as well as financial support for the purchase of a large number of weapons to counter Russian aggression.

In addition to assistance from NATO, Ukraine is also supported within the framework of initiatives from some European countries, which ensure the search, purchase and transfer of artillery shells, air defense systems and anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine.
