Norway will transfer more F-16s to Ukraine than announced

Norway plans to transfer more F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine than officially reported. About this testifies annual report on the import and export of conventional weapons.
According to the document, Norway planned to provide Ukraine with fourteen F-16 aircraft, while officially it was only about the transfer of six fighters. Delivery dates for additional F-16s have not yet been determined. The report did not specify the status of the eight additional aircraft. It is likely that the boards are not airworthy and could be used for training of technical personnel, disassembly for parts or as decoys.
This version is partially consistent with the previously announced statements of the Norwegian government about the transfer of only combat-capable aircraft decommissioned in 2021. At the same time, it is possible that some of the unannounced F-16s were restored to working condition.
In addition to the F-16, the report also mentions the transfer to Ukraine of 20 German-made Dingo 2 armored vehicles and two Norwegian NM189 engineering vehicles based on the Leopard 1 tank.
It will be recalled that in May 2025, the Minister of Defense of Norway, Ture Sandvik, announced that the country will transfer all promised F-16s to Ukraine by the end of 2025. According to him, some of the planes have already been delivered, and the rest will be delivered before the end of the year. In the summer of 2024, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Haar Støre announced that Ukraine would receive six F-16 fighter jets.
