NVIDIA regains status as the world’s most valuable company

NVIDIA has overtaken Microsoft by market capitalization to once again become the world’s most valuable public company. About this informs CNBC.
Shares of the artificial intelligence chipmaker rose about 3% to $141.40. In general, the value of shares increased by almost 24% for the month, despite fears about export restrictions and tariffs.
At the moment, NVIDIA’s market capitalization is $3.45 trillion, while Microsoft ended trading at $3.44 trillion. Starting in June 2024, NVIDIA periodically changes places with Apple and Microsoft in the list of the most valuable companies in the world. The last time she topped this rating was on January 24.
The increase in NVIDIA shares had a positive effect on other technology companies as well: Broadcom’s securities rose 3%, Micron Technology – 4%, and the industry index VanEck Semiconductor ETF rose 2%. Last week, the company released financial results for the first quarter of the new fiscal year, showing earnings of 96 cents per share (adjusted) and revenue of $44.06 billion, a 69% increase compared to the same period last year.
The main source of growth has been artificial intelligence chips, which are heavily used by companies like OpenAI to develop products like ChatGPT. Microsoft, Meta, Google, Amazon, Oracle and xAI are massively purchasing NVIDIA accelerators to create the powerful computing infrastructures needed to implement complex tasks in the field of artificial intelligence.
As a reminder, NVIDIA was founded in 1993 as a manufacturer of graphics chips for 3D games. Subsequently, its technologies turned out to be ideally suited for data processing in the AI sphere, which provided a new round of rapid growth.
