On January 3, Polish farmers will protest against imports from Ukraine and EU policies

Polish farmers plan to hold a large-scale protest in Warsaw on January 3, the main topic of which will be their dissatisfaction with the import of agricultural products from Ukraine. About this informs Farmer.p.
The action will begin at 2:00 p.m. in front of the building of the European Commission, after which the protest participants will go to the National Theater. The organizer of the event is the Union of Agricultural Organizations, which includes 21 associations of Polish farmers.
“All agricultural organizations in our country will protest against the harmful policies of the European Union, against Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen, who is imposing these policies, which will lead to the closure of our farms.” – said Tomas Obshanskyi, the leader of the National Association of Individual Farmers “Solidarity”.
Among the main topics of the protest are dissatisfaction with the agreement with Mercosur (economic union of South American countries), the green course, imports of products from Ukraine, cutting down Polish forests, hunting restrictions and threats to the Polish economy.
We will remind that in December 2024, Polish farmers already held warning actions in more than 20 cities of the country, including a protest on the border with Ukraine in Medycy. These actions became a signal to the Polish government and the EU that farmers are not going to put up with politics. In their opinion, it endangers business and well-being.
