On the night and morning of January 1, the Russian army launched 111 Shahed and other types of drones over Ukraine

On the night of December 31, 2024 to January 1, 2025 (starting at 8:30 p.m.), the enemy launched a massive attack using 111 Shahed attack drones and other drones launched from the Bryansk, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Crimea regions. About this reported Air Force of the ZSU.

Aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine were used to repel the attack.

The destruction of 63 “Shahed” attack drones and other types of drones in various regions of the country, including Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhya, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv, was confirmed.

Thanks to the effective countermeasures of the Defense Forces, 46 enemy drone simulators were lost in location without causing damage, and two drones returned to the territory of Russia and Belarus.

We will remind, in Kyiv, fragments of downed Shaheds fell in the Pechersk and Sviatoshyn districts. Two floors in a residential building were destroyed. Six people were injured.
